He was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. He attended Lakeside School and showed an early aptitude for computers. In 1973 he enrolled at Harvard University but dropped out two years later to pursue his own business ventures. His first company Traf-O-Data launched in 1975 and provided traffic analysis systems to local governments. This experience gave him the confidence to launch Microsoft with Paul Allen in 1976 which quickly became a success as it developed operating software for personal computers that were becoming increasingly popular during this time period.

Bill Gates is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in history. He co-founded Microsoft, which has become a leading technology company and revolutionised the way people use computers. His net worth is estimated to be around $97 billion as of 2021 and round about  $104 of 2023 making him one of the wealthiest individuals in the world. Throughout his career, he has been an advocate for philanthropy and donated billions of dollars to charities worldwide.

Bill Gates comes from a family of five. His father, William H. Gates Sr., is an attorney and his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates was the first woman to serve on the board of directors for First Interstate Bank System in Seattle. He has two sisters - Kristianne and Libby - both of whom are successful businesswomen in their own right. Growing up, Bill was encouraged by his parents to pursue education and technology which eventually led him to become one of the most influential people in history with Microsoft Corporation.

Bill Gates has won numerous awards and accolades for his contributions in the tech world. He was awarded U.S Presidential Medal of Freedom, National Medal of Technology and Innovation, named as one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People several times, and also been acknowledged by multiple other organizations around the globe for work he has done through charitable foundations like The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As a result of these achievements, Bill Gates will likely continue to be remembered by generations to come as an innovative leader who made tremendous impacts on technology today.
