A short Biography of Pervez Musharraf
Pervez Musharraf is a Pakistani politician and retired four-star army general who served as the President of Pakistan from 2001 until 2008.
Early life:He was born on 11,08' 1943 in old Delhi, subcontinents and later shifted to Pakistan after the Partition of India in 1947.
Carrier Musharraf joined the Pakistani Army in 1964 and served in different military and intelligence positions before being appointed as Chief of Army Staff in 1998. He played a key role in the 1999 Kargil conflict with India and later staged a military coup, overthrowing the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999. He declared a state of emergency in 2007 and imposed martial law, but faced widespread protests and international criticism. He resigned from the presidency in 2008 and went into self-imposed exile in Dubai. Musharraf returned to Pakistan in 2013 but faced legal challenges, including treason charges. He remains an influential figure in Pakistani politics, and continues to be a controversial figure due to his actions during his rule.
